Welcome to Technology!

I am truly looking forward to working with all of your wonderful children! I'm excited about all of the possibilities this year and am looking forward to incorporating the new common core standards with project based learning.

***Munger Hill is now completely wireless!***

Our computer lab has an open floor plan with blue carpet, tables instead of desks, a Smart Board with projector, Hover Cam, 30 computers with flat screen monitors, and an iPad cart with 26 iPads. Our lab also has a Mobi Insight 360 Formative Instruction System complete with 32 Pulse 360 Clickers! This system allows the teacher to hook up to a computer and control that computer while carrying a portable hand held tablet around the room. The teacher can also ask the class questions and each student answers using their individual Pulse 360 Clicker. Instant scoring allows for immediate results and this data can shape future questions and lessons. This is so exciting!!!

We have an additional computer lab with 25 computers in the library. Teachers can sign up to bring their classes to work on various programs and projects.

All classrooms are equipped with computers, projectors, speakers and Hover Cams thanks to our generous PTO! Students benefit by having more time using various types of technology.

We have just received a second iPad card that can be wheeled into classrooms. Teachers will be able to check out the iPads to use with all students in their class!

Each week, grades K-5 will come to the technology lab for a 40 minute block of computer instruction and application. Students work independently and collaboratively on lessons and projects. Technology lessons will introduce the students to Internet Safety, keyboarding skills, word processing, as well as, working with various software and websites such as, Kidspiration, Kid Pix 3D, Tux Math, Tux Typing, ST Math, Imagine Learning, iRead and Lexia Reading. Students will also learn how to evaluate websites, so they will know which ones are safe and contain factual information. Older students will work in Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel. We will regularly incorporate science into our technology units, so students will become familiar with programs that develop analyzing and recording skills.

Our school has lots of technology! This additional technology allows students more time on various devices to develop their instructional technology skills.

A big "Thank You" to everyone who donated classroom supplies! I truly appreciate your generosity! Please feel free to contact me at Munger Hill with any questions you may have. My email address is:
