Hello My Name Is...

Mrs. Manley

Dear Parents,

I wanted to take this opportunity to welcome you again to Kindergarten.  This is a very busy and exciting year for your child in Reading, Writing, and Math and I am anticipating a year full of discovery and learning!  During the first couple of weeks of Kindergarten, we worked on building a classroom community by discussing rules, manners, and friendship, etc.  After brainstorming together, we came up with our classroom rules...

                                    1.  Keep hands and feet to yourself

                                    2.  Always raise your hand

                                    3.  Be good listeners and make good choices

                                    4.  Be respectful to others

Communication between parents and teacher is also a very important part of Kindergarten, and your child’s learning.  To keep the lines of communication open, please remember that you can always send me a note in your child’s folder or call me at the school at 572-6520.

Our “Mystery Bag” days have been going great!   You have been sending in some great items, and the students have been coming up with great clues to describe them!

Please remember...

Drop off in the morning is anytime between 8:45 and 9:00.  Kindergarten should be dropped off between those times at the Kindergarten entrance by the playscape.  Pick up at the end of the day is 3:00.  Kindergartners should be picked up a the back door to our room unless an older sibling comes to get them.

Also as a reminder, there should be no parking in the circle in the front of the school.

Each day our class has a snack in the afternoon.  We eat lunch at 11:50, and it’s a long afternoon for some in which they get hungry.  Please remember to send in a healthy snack and drink.

The price of hot lunch is $ 2.00, the cost of just milk is $.45.

If your child is ill, please make sure that they are fever free for at lease 24 hours.  If there is a diagnosis of strep throat or pink eye, they cannot return to school for a full 48 hours being on antibiotics.

Thank you so much to all of you for all of your help and support!!
