WELCOME TO Mrs. O'Neill's CLASSROOM

Class Motto: ONE SIZE DOES NOT FIT ALL!

Our LLD classroom services 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders. Our program is tailored to the individual needs of our students, keeping in mind that each of us learns and works differently. The method used for most of our lessons is the Orton-Gillingham approach. This is a direct, explicit, multisensory, and structured approach. Reading, writing and spelling are taught utilizing this method. Regardless of whether your child is remote or hybrid at this time, we are delivering the O-G method.

In room 206, Mrs. Parody and I are working together this year to use sight, hearing, touch and movement to help our students connect language with letters and words.

I am easy to reach whenever you want to consult about your child’s progress or needs. Most parents are connected to me on Classdojo. If you would like to email, please feel free to at n.oneill@schoolsofwestfield.org.

You can help your child succeed in school by reading to them often. This is just as important as having your child read to you. Discuss with your child what you read. Please also be sure your child gets enough sleep; a sleepy, yawning child is not going to learn well. Research shows that lack of sleep significantly aggravates learning disabilities, ADHD, ASD, anxiety disorders, and behavioral problems. Together we will help your child succeed this school year. Thank you for your help at home!
